BIOGRAPHY - STEVE SILLETT
Frustrated with previous office life Steve joined a Motor Parts wholesaler as a Goods Inwards Clerk in 1970 and managed to progress through a number of job functions including becoming their youngest buyer and finally their youngest Salesman. Steve developed his business and within three years his territory delivered the highest sales revenue.
Steve joined Smedley-HP Foods in 1976 as a Trainee Salesman. Steve progressed through a number of roles such as Territory Salesman, Induction Coach, Field Assistant, Area Manager, Regional Manager and Sales Training Manager. This final role was for both HP Foods and Golden Wonder who were both members of the Imperial Tobacco Group at that time.
Steve then joined Neville Clarke in 1984 as a Sales Training Consultant and progressed to Senior Consultant and then Principal Consultant. Activities focused on designing and delivering sales training initiatives to field telesales operating sales teams, including management development programmes. Customers were blue chip organisations, such as Allied Breweries, Intercontinental Hotels, Abbey Insurance, Fisher Price, Greene King etc.
Neville Clarke was sold to Dunn & Bradstreet in 1989 and Steve remained with one of the three Directors who formed Routes to Solutions. During Steve's time with this company he helped develop and deliver a number of customer service programmes for large organisations, for example, Pizza Hut.
In 1990 Steve set up a new Company (Spectratec Limited) along with another former employee of Neville Clarke. This partnership continued for ten years, since which time Steve has continued with Spectratec as a sole trader.
Steve joined Kingsway Training Limited as a Senior Business Consultant and Academy Course Director in 2004.
