BIOGRAPHY - PHIL SIMNETT
A dedicated 'people developer' who combines senior line management and consultant experience to achieve positive change in performance.
After graduation Phil gained 2 years experience in retail followed by seven years at Procter & Gamble, where appointments as Sales Trainer and Sales Manager consolidated his time as a Salesman. Phil then enjoyed a 7-year period as an independent recruitment and sales training consultant, handling senior recruitment and sales-force integration assignments.
In 1988 Phil was invited to join Bacardi-Martini as a Director of Sales to modernise the field sales team, subsequently being appointed as Director of Sales for the On-Trade National Accounts group.
In 1997 Phil was asked to head up Bacardi's Human Resources team to add a commercial perspective to a the 'production oriented' personnel team. Phil revamped the Management Development Programme, developed a Teamworking programme and introduced a 360º feedback process. He also qualified as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (MCIPD) and qualified to use MBTI and Saville & Holdsworth's OPQ.
Since 1999, Phil has conducted a number of Learning & Development and HR consultancy projects in the UK and Europe. Core enjoyment areas are 1:1 Coaching/Mentoring and small group facilitated learning.
While Phil's line management career is in fmcg/drinks, consultancy assignments have added experience in field marketing, household, health and beauty, OTC, oil/petroleum, motor accessories, materials, public sector, education, arts festivals, banking and telecommunications.
Phil became a Senior Business Consultant and Academy Course Director at Kingsway Training Limited in 2004.
