BIOGRAPHY - ALAN PEPPER
Having spent three years in Cost Accountancy, Alan decided to move into a selling career. In 1969 he joined Batchelors Foods Ltd (a Unilever Company). After a short period as a Sales Trainee he became a Sales Representative and managed two sales territories - East Anglia and the East Midlands. He was quickly promoted to Key Account Manager and became responsible for the induction training of new recruits. He also managed a Sales and Merchandising team for the Northern division.
In 1977 he joined Golden Wonder Ltd (Imperial Foods) and as an Area Sales Manager (North West) was responsible for a team of eight Territory Managers. Alan and his team were involved in the test launch of Pot Noodle.
In 1981, he joined Pillsbury UK (Pillsbury USA) to take over a division with responsibility for a team of thirty four and selected national accounts. Alan and his team were successful in improving volumes distribution and display of Green Giant, Greens of Brighton and Hammonds products throughout half of the UK.
He has worked for an international management consultancy, gained general management experience with Aspen In-store Marketing (Rowntrees) and developed an independent management consultancy providing training and recruitment support to a variety of FMCG companies.
In 1994, he joined Nationwide Sales Training Ltd becoming a Principal Consultant in 1996.
He joined the Spearhead Training Group in 2001 as Managing Director of the Spearhead Management Consultancy.
Alan established Kingsway Training Limited in 2004 and he is responsible for the sales and marketing of the business, all aspects of client management, and the consultancy and training team. He provides consultancy and training support to a number of key clients.
